Hey guys,
I kind of understand, that angles beat frames but im not able to implement the concept into my game tbh.
I usually pass from halfguard or over/under.
I struggle with frames from half guard a lot. Once im passed (mostly after over/under) i struggle with frames/stiff arms when trying to go from hips to head. And even when on top, i struggle with stiff arm escapes/bench press escapes so much, that i can only focus on holding and not attacking. That usually leads back to guard.
Looking for tips, good examples, .. particualry for those situations.
Also welcoming tips for that kind of passing game as a light weight (70kg max), since most instrucionals come from big guys.
I find that a lot of the lighter guys struggle with this when fighting a bigger and stronger guy.
I have found success with my guys when they have a more relaxed approach on top, like almost looking to counter weight the bench press/frames.
It's a little weird at first but once you manage to find your balance and counter weight, it allows you to move your body is different ways to start to keep chest pressure on the hands or frames. While using lower body to kind of clear a gap to settle into a better position, also have you tried using your speed you off set the frames and hands.
For instance if they are benching you off while you in side control on the right, you run a circle over the head to the left side. It kind of twists the hands and makes it hard to bench.

Your under arm, after passing, lead with the elbow rather than reaching out for the head and slide it up to try for the cross face. The over arm keep tight to their hip and slide up looking for undertook.
If you're stuck at the hips and If all else fails against big guys who are framing well, sometimes popping up to knee on belly solidifies the pass.
Hope this helps, there's a good section on the grapplers guide on the over under that covers common issues and the Latvian pressure passing course has good details in it too.
