    Hi

I’m trying to develop a game with control. Which is slow and tight yet some players game is fast and explosive. Does anyone have any suggestions particularly from
Open guard bottom best way to control your opponent that is big and explosive.

There are hundreds of techniques so would help if you could post videos to any particular high percentage techniques. Just been trying out shot gun 2-1 guard and that seems
To be going down well so inInterested in other players experiences .

    Thanks

Collar sleeve is always a great guard to play against anyone of any size.

If you want control from open guard just train lasso guard. No one is going to pass your guard fast.

Hi, I think the concept behind dealing with explosive/fast players is to stay connected to them, with whatever open guard works for you. I'm in the same boat as I'm significantly older than most people I train with. I prefer halfguard and butterfly .I'd Study that concept and apply it to the open guard that works for you.

Has to be a combination between Shin on shin, half butterfly, reverse De LA riva and Single leg X/leg entanglement.

I've had some success with collar sleeve like Mr. Scully mentioned. Jon Thomas has some really good content on here and free stuff on youtube about collar sleeve against bigger guys. Another tactic I like is getting an overhook on one side and getting to a clamp guard or eventually working into williams guard.

Agreed 100%, and can even use variants of shin on shin like spider shin on shin and situp shin on shin
