    GI Chokes

Recently I have been thinking about the submissions that I hit the most and noticed I don't have a GI choke in my arsenal besides the Ezekiel, which can also be a no gi choke.

I would like to develop a GI choke heavy game. So I have been wondering how extensive this study can be on GI chokes and where should I start? I would like to be able to catch GI chokes from most positions so where should I look for this information or if there is a lesson for me to look at. Thanks in advance.

@@Viashiv, a lot is going to depend on the position you are in the most. What positions are you usually in the most?

To learn the basic mechanics of gi chokes, I would start with the Cross Choke ( https://grapplersguide.com/second-portal/lms/lessons/cross-collar-choke-gi-only.29216/ ), the Bread Cutter, and a simple Collar choke from the back. Once you understand the mechanics behind those, most others will come quite easily.

I'd say cross collar choke from mount is a solid fundermental collar choke and is a pretty powerful choke from that position. It can be a good distraction choke to go for from mount if the opponent is being defensive and stalling at the bottom. Same with the ezikiel
