Rash Guards

I am using ~$10 compression shirts and Venum rashguard. The only difference is the $10 shirt is thinner compared to Venum and venum has that elastic band at the tummy end of the shirt. The $10 shirt still holds up very well when rolling. I will buy five $10 compression shirts which I can rotate usage, compared to just one branded rashguard.

I will rather invest more on grappling shorts tbt, compared to rashguard.

I like Fuji. They work well for me, they are pretty reasonably price, plus we have a 30% coupon through Grappler’s Guide.

My favorite is a cheapo Korean one I got off of ebay years ago.

I really like the designs on Scramble brand rashies. I've also had Raven and 93 brand rashies that are good. Sometimes I just wear the $15 rashie I bought from Kmart and it's just as good really. But it doesn't have the fancy graphics. I'd wait for specials. Bjjhq have rashies on sale all the time

From my experience, underarmour always had the highest quality compression gear. I wouldn't get anything else unless I really like the design or if it's heavily discounted.

I’ve tried various BJJ rashguards as well as compression shirts from nike, underarmour, etc. I actually prefer compression shirts because they are thinner and I train in a hot climate. As an added bonus they are much cheaper and they seem to be of similar quality and craftsmanship. If I was gonna get another BJJ rashguard I’d probably get Origin because they are American made so I could justify the higher cost.

I have a bunch of different brands. I started with the cheap compression shirts which were fine, but I started picking up other rashguards on sale from bjjhq. My favorites are Raven (best value) and Phalanx (best quality). Unlike another poster, I have not been a fan of any of my Fuji stuff actually - especially the shorts.

As someone new to BJJ, I want a rash guard that I likely wouldn't get buyer's regret over. So I did a lot of reading up and the
Elite Sports rash guard gets mentioned a lot. I bought the long sleeve version and I am very satisfied with what I am getting. It is cheap compared to a lot of rash guards in the market but the quality is impressive given its cost. I would like to believe that it is one of the most value for money rash guard that you can buy.

While I do have some higher end rash guards that I really love, honestly, most often I roll in $12 rash guards from Walmart.

I initially bought a 3 pack on Amazon and they work fine. I definitely like the look of some of them that are specifically made for jiu jitsu. I’m going to try out a couple different brands and that should hold me over for a while!

I have not had good success with amazon rash guards.

I just got a new rashie from jitsy and it's the really good quality. Thicker material than a lot of other rashies I've got and good fit.

Any good and cheapo IBJJF approved rashguard with no flashy designs?

Unlike another poster, I have not been a fan of any of my Fuji stuff actually - especially the shorts.

hey maan, may i know the issue with fuji shorts? I'm eyeing their fuji baseline shorts (and maybe rashguard) because of plain color.

Cheap brands on Amazon like Devops, Hawk, and Sanabul are reliable and only $10-$15. I think the price increases a lot when it's big brand ranked rash guards or custom designs. The quality isn't that different

Black Friday sales are starting up now, get some while they’re slightly cheaper. My favourite ia a cheap tatami long sleeve, but I also have raven ones which have an elasticated bottom to stop them riding up.

There are some good sales going on right now, and hopefully more on Friday thru Monday.

Another vote for Fuji, good quality.
But yeah, whatever fits your budget and your sense of style is fine. :)

Ive got a few "nice" rashies, but for the most part just a cheap under armour compression shirt works for me.

I've always bought the cheapest compression base layer long-sleeved shirt I could find, and they've worked great. I've only spent more the few times i made a custom rashguard.

i have under armor and it seems as good as some of the higher priced rash Guards I have
I do find that some of my higher priced rash guards seem to be a bit more comfortable and better made then my under armor but might be in my mind

Cheaper rash guards are thinner. More expensive rash guards tend to be slightly thicker (protecting you from rashes) and fit/stretch a little better.

I also find the additional details on more expensive rashguards very useful (e.g. the rubber strip to stop it riding up).

I've had cheap rashguards that have lasted me years but the difference tends to be that they don't feel as nice and start looking very tatty very quickly.

Recently bought long sleeve Lafroi rash guard on Amazon for about $20 (on sale, plus Amazon coupon). It is essentially a swim rash guard. Great fit. Will let you know how it holds up in training.

Still #1 overall, reasonably priced rashguard I have found is RVCA.

Or just under armour shirts, whatever costs the least.

Funny I look at rash guards like underwear. Make sure you wear clean for every practice. Based on sleeve length I really insist on longsleeve and spats to the ankle. You need to have enough or wash enough to facilitate wearing clean for every
practice.
