    Hello

I couldn’t find an instructional on this?

Is it filed under a different name?

I learned it as Romulo guard after Rumulo Borral who was very good with it. Check YouTube for highlights!

The more generic name I use is collar spider. Only recently I learned that its fun name is tarantula guard.

There's a course from Marcus Johnson that starts here: https://app.theguidesites.com/grapplers-guide/courses/spider-guard-system/lessons/spider-guard-system-grips-functions-maintenance-why-to-use

And I actually favor the shin spider variant more: https://app.theguidesites.com/grapplers-guide/courses/shin-to-shin-spider. There are two really good studies of Michelle Nicolini on YouTube for you to review 100x.

@locnload and @Anup_Singh , Tarantula guard is basically Collar Control Spider Guard? If so I may separate the section out and make it, it's own course to make it stand out more.

@Jason_Scully Yep, you got it! I'm not sure when, why, and how it came to be known as tarantula guard. Maybe that free leg waving around like a tarantula is the origin. Marcus' course here is great! I only got Romulo's instructional to get a different perspective. If you do pull it out into its own course, I'd love content on retention and passing it. I know that a lot of the spider passing fundamentals still apply. But according to my training partners who have to deal with me playing tarantula in between competition cycles, the collar grip is super annoying!

I found that the guard was very much like spider guard anyway. Dom Bell has a video on BJJ Fanatics too.
