It has been a few decades since I needed to cut weight for high school wrestling. I know science has advanced.
The below is NOT advice. Below is what I think. I'm sure much of it is wrong. Please correct my bro-science, below.
Eat a fairly high salt diet, ten days out. Drink as much water as possible. Keep working out and kill every final ounce of fat you can.
3 days out, abruptly cut out the salt. Help yourself to water. Keep training and sweating.
The day before, cut out water abruptly and keep checking your weight until you are at the point you can cut the remaining water the next day before the weigh-ins.
Have a glass of red wine the night before.
Have an espresso in the morning.
Put on your sauna suit, go to the sauna, and sweat out the remainder.
Weigh in. Make weight.
Drink lemonade.
What do you do differently, from the above?
Where am I terribly mistaken?
How much water weight do you lose in the sauna in a 20-minute session? And, does this rate change significantly the more dehydrated you become?
What things am I neglecting?
albolene, not eating at night, and waterloading have helped my game, I cut about 30 lbs when I fight
Definitely taking your time for this process is important... A very safe way would be a few hours of walking on in thick clothes. Or can you get to your local open mats for several hours? Lol
