Before fight I get completly scared and body shiver why that happens some time i forget my combinations inside the cage how can I improve that
I think it's natural to be scare and nervous. I find many people are scared to a point where they forget things because they put to much pressure on themselves as they are worried about everyone watching them perform. I found when I learned to use the nerves and fear as positive energy and not care about anyone on the outside, it helped me a lot.
That’s not fear my man… that’s your bodies way of getting primed before combat. It’s similar to feeling “anxious” before talking to a beautiful woman or meeting your “heroes”. It’s excitement… learn to embrace it. The more you expose yourself to that feeling the easier it is to recognize and deal. Just shift perspective the best you can. Your body is trying to help you achieve a goal. Mastery over that takes time just like anything else.
Great thankyou
Only a psychopath doesn't get nervous or scared before a competition or a match.
@crossover 😂 😂
I suffered with competition nerves for most of my life. What I’ve found is that trying to avoid that feeling in the build up doesn’t really help. The more I let myself sit in that anxious state when I think about an upcoming competition, the less alien it feels by the time I’m actually there.
On the day, that’s when I’ll use grounding techniques. Mine is really simple: look up at the ceiling, deep breath in through the nose, then slowly breathe out through the mouth as I bring my gaze back down. It doesn’t really matter what your thing is, just that it’s something simple you can control when everything else feels a bit chaotic.
Nadal famously had little routines like arranging his water bottles courtside. Same sort of idea really, something familiar and controllable to bring you back into the moment.
The nerves will not disappear, I have chatted to various successful UFC fighters about the exact thing and the difference is that they reframe the nervous feeling as excitement and turn it into something positive.
@Pred500 great message thankyou 🙏
